Since ancient times this area was settled, as proved by many relics from Etruscan and Celtic times. Among many other attractions, you owe a visit to the castle of Montecchio, whose route range from an early Christian necropolis to modern times. Il Tempietto del Petrarca (“Petrarca’s little temple”) was built as a memory of the famous poet, who took inspiration from this landscapes to compose his most celebreted work.
